At the core, for Discord, Aegis acts as a security system for server teams who operate safe spaces.

We supply a tool to report bans they have issued against trolls, hate raiders, and those that would pose a threat to these spaces. e.g. Accounts that post/support hate speech, homophobia, transphobia, racism etc.

Receiving Reports

Using our officially verified Discord bot, your discord can get real time reports into your selected moderation channel of accounts that pose a threat. 

These reports come with:

• A link to a discussion room on Aegis where evidence is posted

• The username and #ID of the banned user.

• The username of the author of the report

• The Discord server the ban originated from.

• A button to ban the reported member.

Accountability is a major part of our system.

All reports coming from Aegis are all done by people, there is no automation of reports.

From there, moderation teams of the registered communities can then judge those offences against their own community standards, and pre-emptively issue bans BEFORE these folks come knocking.

Sending Reports

All registered communities may send their ban to Aegis as reports so other communities can quickly protect themselves.

These reports are securely stored on our server and may be called upon at any time.

If one gets attacked, we all get protected, it's like a discord immunity system!

User Functions

If you have the Aegis bot in your server, as a registered community you can look up users by clicking on their usernames/profiles or via #ID.

You can check if a user has ever been reported, you can also reverse image search their profile picture if needed.

Warning System 

If you have the Aegis bot set up, if a reported member ever enters your server, you can have your moderation staff immediately notified of a potential threat along with all the relevant information.

Other

As registered members we provide opportunities for growth and advancement at events that Aegis attends, along with opportunities and collaborations with other communities and creators. Currently we are looking for opportunities for companies to help support us and our members.

Aegis’ main goal for creators is to provide opportunities and promote all our members. We want to provide a system to help people recognise safe spaces easily.

Safe spaces are very important for vulnerable people online and we want to foster a community of safe content creators.

We want it to be easy for people to determine if someone is safe to interact with and also fosters a safe environment in their community.

Unless it's outright stated, sometimes it's hard to tell if someone is a safe space or an ally. This can lead to people being apprehensive about interacting with content creators, so our aim is to take the ambiguity and anxiety out of finding new creators and communities.

We want people to know when you see a creator with our logo, they can rest assured that the content creator is a safe space that upholds our values.

Along with the provided functions of the discord section above, we have an extra bot that you can invite to twitch and youtube in the works that works in the same manner as the discord bot. 

We already currently have a similar reporting system just like the Discord system for Twitch accounts but will be expanding to more features soon.

Working with content creators

At all events that Aegis attends we want to showcase our content creators. We want to give opportunity to all creators no matter their size.

We are also looking out for opportunities that we can offer to our members, this includes content creator campaigns, tech to review, and free gear!
